C & J · BEFORE LAUNCH
Cancellation & refunds — review draft
A proposed direct-booking policy for simple day tours and transfers. Final approval and supplier alignment are required.
Standard private day tours
Proposal: no C & J service cancellation charge when received at least 48 hours before the confirmed start. Disclosed, reasonably incurred and unrecoverable supplier costs may apply where lawful. Inside 48 hours, assess a reasonable charge up to the service price, considering notice, resale, costs avoided and the circumstances. Do not automatically charge 100%.
Airport transfers
Proposal: allow cancellation without a C & J service charge up to 24 hours before pickup. Shorter notice, waiting and no-shows are assessed reasonably under the agreed quote. Flight disruption must be checked personally. A delay is not automatically a no-show.
Custom, cruise and multi-day services
Provide service-specific terms before taking payment. Identify accommodation, boat, tasting or other supplier commitments individually. Do not impose undisclosed third-party penalties after a guest has booked.
Weather and operator cancellation
If C & J cannot deliver the essential contracted service, offer an agreed alternative or the refund due under applicable law. A guest is not required to accept a materially different tour. Supplier ticket refunds follow disclosed terms, subject to statutory rights.
Illness, hospitalisation and death
Where the Consumer Protection Act applies, its protections for relevant death or hospitalisation circumstances must be respected. Request only proportionate evidence and handle it privately. Review other compassionate circumstances personally.
Refund processing
Proposed service target: approve and initiate eligible refunds within seven business days of receiving the information needed. Bank settlement may take longer. Refund to the original payment method wherever practical, record the provider reference, and send the guest the calculation. No refund capability is live in this preview.
